Highway Capacity & Quality of Service Mid-Year Meeting
Welcome to the HCQS 2010 mid-summer meeting website. This year’s meeting will be held in Portland, Oregon from July 28-31 at the Hotel Vintage Plaza in downtown Portland. The meeting will begin Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m., but there are two pre-meeting workshops (dealing with Urban Streets and Unsignalized intersections) that you are encouraged to attend as well. The Wednesday morning workshops will be held at Kittelson & Associates' office (a very short walk from the hotel).
We encourage you to register for the meeting as soon as possible to take advantage of early registration rates and to help with planning for the event. Also, please book your hotel room soon as there are very few hotel rooms remaining at a rate of $150 per night. Please note there are several other hotel options within close walking distance to the Vintage Plaza.
The registration cost is $375, which includes continental breakfast Thursday, Friday, Saturday, lunch on Thursday, Friday, and the dinner event on Friday. On Friday (July 30th), there will be a Columbia River Gorge cruise and dinner event. Buses will depart the Hotel Vintage Plaza Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. Early Bird Registration runs until July 9th! Base registration price will raise to $425 after July 9th, and will be $450 onsite.
On a recreational note, late July is a perfect time to visit Portland with average temperatures typically around 80 degrees. Hopefully you can extend your stay and take advantage of the many scenic attractions that both Portland and the State of Oregon have to offer.
